The FDA has approved LASIK eye surgery and considered it a safe procedure since 1996. As with any surgical procedure there are minor risks involved, but the outcomes are overwhelmingly positive. In fact, most patients see 20/20 vision after LASIK without the use of corrective eyewear, and only an estimated 3-5 percent of LASIK patients experience minor difficulties like nighttime glare and dry eyes.
